I put up a gallery function to hold photos from events where I took a lot of photos (like last night) and it wouldn’t really make sense to put them all here. It’s located here. Here is a direct link to the photos from last night.
I would have added more pictures, or better pictures, or the process of cooking this, but I cooked this for 16 hours and I really just wanted to get it inside of my mouth by the time it was done.
(Recipe here)
I’m just going to leave this here, as a reminder to make this so I can cram it into my mouth ASAP:

Also, new camera for Christmas, so here is a picture of Walter to sweeten the pot:
I neglected to make any posts over the summer. Why? Well, for one, I wasn’t really doing anything. I didn’t sew anything new. I bought a lot of fabric and supplies, but I didn’t make anything new or noteworthy. I did get to spend some time at Detroit Maker Faire, buying things other people made. But not really much of anything for me.
But now, it is autumn. I tend to get a lot more done then. I put in some more storage in my sewing room, did some reorganization, got everything into a state where I could use it again. I’ve made the top and back for a new quilt using Echo, the new line from Lotta Jansdotter. I was very ill all last week, so I had plenty of time to get things done (or plead with Ian to get things done, I guess). I got a serger for my birthday (o glorious day), and I sold my vintage Kenmore Model 52 to someone who will love it and use it way more than me.
Here is a picture of my new workspace. I have shelves, I reorganized my button collection, I hung rulers and fabric pens and scissors from the wall. I finally got around to framing my signed Heather Ross print, so that is up there too.
Some pictures:
Here is my workspace as it looks right now. You can see all my cut out echo pieces for the new quilt.
I took the sliding doors off my closet and put in some shelving. Since I took this picture earlier this week, I have reorganized this some to make it more accessible (and I’ve started organizing fabric by color).
Here is a closeup of the start of my Echo blocks. Since the quilt is done, this is not an accurate representation of my progress, but nice to look at nonetheless.
Here is 20 yards of flannel I bought on Black Friday at JoAnn. Funny story, I was like “OH I DO NOT NEED TO GO THERE ON BLACK FRIDAY FOR FLANNEL, I AM SO ABOVE BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING; EVERYONE LISTEN TO HOW ENLIGHTENED I AM.” Then I ran in there in the evening for some white Kona, and I saw all the flannel sitting out and I have to say- so much of it was just adorable (those whales! those monkeys!). I am not a flannel person really, but I walked out with 20 yards of flannels. The guy at the cutting counter must have HATED me. I kept apologizing for putting him through it, but I am not sure it made a difference.
I am currently working on some coloring wallets, so I will probably update when I get through those. And hopefully again soon after, and then after that, and after that… you get the point. I miss this blog!
